Jesus Is At Your Door Knocking

(My sermons on May 30, 11 was like this - at a community church)

Revelations 3:20

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

Jesus is always at the door of our heart knocking waiting to come in to fellowship (sup) with us: He wants to walk with us, talk with us. He wants us to do all the things He would have us to do. He is the only one that can turn our life around, because Jesus is love.

Jesus wants to give us the fruits of His spirit: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance - against which there is no law, to do his work.  He said, "work that He did, before  He left, greater work we shall do."  The harvest is right, plentiful, but the laborers are few, according to the bible.

The bible says, "God does not hear a sinner's prayer, but his ears are open to the righteous cry. God want us to sit at the welcome table with Him. Those who are unsaved do not have this fellowship with Him.

In order to do God's work we must have love, joy and peace for our fellow man. We must be longsuffering and gentle as he was with us.We must show our goodness, have faith, meekness and patience with our unsaved sisters and brothers.

God says to the church, "I know thy works: behold I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou has a little strength, and has kept my word, and has not denied my name, according to Revelations 3:8.

We can carry out any mission that God has for us to do in the name of  Jesus. All we have to do is have faith and believe.  When He commissions us, He also equips us to do His work. He tells us to go into the hedges and highways and beckon them to come in and fellowship with Him.

Lets open the door and answer Jesus' call to fellowship with us.

Until we meet again soon.

Enter Into A Place Of Rest

(Dialogue Thought)

What is rest, what do we call it? Is it a time of sleep, or do we say it  a time away from all trouble; can we enter into rest?

Hebrew 4:1

Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.

***God has promised us his rest, if we will hear, keep and do what  He has told us. Many of us have come short of his promise, because we have disobeyed him.

***Within God's rest is a place of peace within Him also. A time to rest from all our work, not only physical but spiritual work: the pressures, troubles and cares of this world that holds us down. As we journey each day to do physical work, we should have joy and peace within our spirit, if not, we have not entered into His rest.

Hebrews 4:9,10

There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.

For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.

***There is still another chance for us, Christians, to rest in the Lord, but we must labor in His word and keep his commandments in order to rest within Him. Taking our cares and concerns to the cross and leaving them there will give us peace, meanwhile, we can rest in His love and shield of protection.

***Many times we work from sun up to sun down - we do not have joy or peace to give others, because we have not rested and there is none to give.  Seeking that rest and peace in the Lord is the best thing we can do for ourself and our family.  We are the strong one in our family life: for our children and spouse.  We must take back what Satan has stolen from us, and in return reserve it for us, our family and friends.

Let's continue to labor to enter that place of rest within the Lord.

Until we meet again soon.

8:00 In The Morning - A Time Of Prayer

(From The Minister's Heart)

As I opened my eyes again this morning, it was my hour of prayer. I thought about God's mercy and goodness. How He has blessed us richly, and been so good to us. So, so good to me that all I could say was thank you Lord.

Many are less fortunate because they are going through a lot of turmoils these days with the devastation of the thunder storms, tornadoes and overflowing waters. Some have lost everything they had and living in fear.
The bible says, "The strong out to bear the infirmities of the weak, our brothers and sisters.  Now is the time for Christians to be on a crusade for Christ. To lend a helping hand in the time of need. To help provide shelter for the homeless, to give to the needy, and be a brother to the brotherless.

Jesus says to Christians, " I was hungry, and you gave me  food: I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink: I was a stranger, and you took me in: Naked, and you clothed me: I was sick, and you visited me: I was in prison, and you came unto me.

Jesus said, "When we do it to the least one of our brothers and sisters, we have done it unto Him.
Saying, Come, you blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world, according to Matthews 25:34-36,40

It is only because of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness, according to Lamentations 3:22,23.

Psalm 23:6

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

A well known pastor wrote, "Everyone longs for love, acceptance and attention.

Because of the Lord's mercy, we can live under His blood, be anointed by His spirit, and walk in His grace.

Until we meet again - soon.

A New Beginning For Us

Revelation 21:1,2

And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

***Sometimes we are so troubled with the pressures of this world that we are ready to give up. It seem as though all hope is gone, and God has given up on us.  We have no more joy, peace or patience. We do not dwell in the Holy Spirit any longer, with the fruits of the spirit abiding in us. We want to fly away and be at rest. We want to come out of all our troubles with our hands held high.

***Jesus is the Prince of Peace. This is why He said, "Peace I leave with you, not the peace that the world giveth." The Peace that He left  with us will stay until He returns. The joy of the Lord is our strength. When we think about the goodness of Him that made created, and died on the cross for us, O what joy this will bring to our minds and hearts. Talk about joy, unspeakable job.

***God knows our down sitting and our uprising. He knows when we are feeling good and when we are feeling down. He knows our circumstances at all times. This is why, as our days on earth are limited, He will send a new heaven and a new earth to replace the old ones.

***God's promise will come into being, He will dwell and walk among us.We will be his people, and He will be our God. Many things has happened, and generations has came and gone since He dwelled among us as Jesus Christ, our saviour. He was here with us from the beginning of creation; then He came down through forty two generations to dwell in our mist, as our saviour.

Revelations 21:5

And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new.

God will give to us that thirst after righteousness. If we overcome we will inherit all things.
But sinners will have their home in the lake of fire for eternal suffering.

***While we are suffering  all day long for righteousness sake, let's remember the pressures and persecution of this world is an end to a means: entering  into that new heaven and new earth with God will be a day of greatness and hallelujah in its' highest form.

Until we meet again - soon.

Sold Out To The Lord

(Dialogue Question)

Are we sold out to the Lord, or Are we selling ourselves short of His word?

Genesis 25:30-32,33

And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage: for I am faint: therefore was his name called E'-dom.

And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright.

And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me?

Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright.

Many times we sell ourselves short because whatever things, chances and events come our way first, we reach out and grasp them with a powerful hold. Most of the time we don't wait to see if God has better things in store for us.

When we are desperate we will go the limit to get our needs supplied. Most of the time we haven't prayed about the things we are reaching for.

The bible says ask, seek and knock, then it shall be given unto you. Ask and seek God in prayer for whatever we want, then knock expecting to receive good and perfect gifts from him.

Many times we sell ourselves out for fame, money etc. - to find out later on in life it was not worth it. Learning to wait on the Lord to supply our needs through His son, Jesus, is always wise. Jesus gave His best on the cross so that we could have and enjoy the best in this life

The bible ask, "What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and loose his soul"? It does not profit anything; because things of this world is going to pass away, only the word of God is going to stand.

Let's not sell Jesus short of His word. Every thing that He has promised us will come to pass, if we obey his word, and have faith in Him.

God does not lie, before a tilt of His word fails, heaven and earth will pass away. God is a God that does not have to repent, because He does not lie, according to the bible.

Let's continue to be sold out to the Lord, buy not selling ourselves short to His word.

Until we meet again - soon.

Summer Bliss: College; Employment; Summer School or Camp

(From The Minister's Heart)

Since the school year is winding up, we must think about, or have already planned for our children's future for the summer months. We must make an investment in our children's future year round.

A mind is a terrible thing to waste; and an education is a gem, no one can take it away from us, but we must continue to pursue it.

Continuing  or starting a college education is a wonderful choice for a High school graduate to make, in order, to advance themselves, and  later make wise decisions in choosing a job.

If a student has used their time wisely by going to school, and taking  a prep class for College he can succeed. Maybe even taking a college class while still in High school is something to consider.

Employment training for the summer, or regular employment is a wise decision to consider. Being resourceful especially, during the summer months is very important for one's self esteem.

Summer school and camp is a very good bliss for our children during the summer months. Making new friends is such a joy: a different environment with christian people.

An experienced Christian baby sitter loves children, and treats them as their own. They are dependable, responsible, loving, and a caring person. Children love to be around them.

A summer vacation is something the whole family can enjoy together. Wonderful memories to cherish and talk about. Getting away from the same atmosphere; and making a new beginning for the fall months.

Summer time should be full of energy, excitement and bliss. A new movement of happiness and fun.

Live is short so lets enjoy it with our family and friends. Lets cherish each day as if it were our last.  We can not afford to leave God out of our lives, plans and our decision making.

These are the days that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in them, the summer months.

Until we meet again soon.

Look To Praise God In Times Of Trouble

Revelation 7:9-12

After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;

And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.

And all the angles stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God,

Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen

***True worship and praise came from the crowd that stood around the throne to give God/Jesus their honour, glory and praise.Their eyes were shut, their bodies bent and their voices were lifted in order to give them their all: mind, soul and heart.

***True worship is not just vocal, it is from within, deep down in our santified soul. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak to praising Him.

Revelation 7:17

For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

***Whatever we are going through now if we learn to praise Him, when we get to heaven we will already have a made up mind to give Him glory and honor. We should choose to worship Him.

If we noticed, that crowd around the throne started worshiping Him by saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thankgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.

Lets choose to worship Him from the going down of the sun, until the coming up again of the sun.

Until we meet again soon.

Living In a Dream World

(Dialogue Question)

Are we living our ambitions, goals, visions and dreams out?
Or are we still living in a state of pretense by leaving well enough alone?

Sometimes it seems so hard to reach the goals or dreams that we have set for ourselves. Every time we turn around there are so many distractions to keep us from reaching a destination, a place of rest, to continue on to reach our goal.

Many times we just don't plan or think things over before we set out for the race we must run to reach our dream. Can we say we are living in a dream world, or is our dream fact, fiction or unrealistic?

Do, we as parents, try to live out our unfinished dreams through our children lives, or do we help them live out the destiny in their own dream?

All goals, visions and dreams start with a plan of action, a strong will, the ability to carry them out, and then see our hard work manifest. We can't afford to leave the Lord out of our dreams.

Philippians 4:13

I can do all things through Christ which strentheneth me.

Psalm 37:23

The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.

Proverbs 16:9

A man's heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps.

God says, He know the plans He have for us; they are for good and not for evil, to give us a future of hope, according to Jeremiah 29:11

Let's continue to ask God to order our steps in His word, Psalm 119:133

Until we meet again soon.

A STRONG AND CARING WOMAN

(From The Minister's Heart)

My relationship with my mother began many years ago, during the nine months she carried me. I was born and raised in Fayette County, Rossville TN. The same city I reside in now.  Rossville is a small town east of Collierville, TN, about thirty two or thirty four miles east of Memphis.

My mother, like many mothers, took care of and nurtured me as a child. During my adolescent years I realized that my mother was a strong, firm and caring woman. She never showed many negative emotions such as nervousness, short tempered, or yelled at me when she was upset.  Her voice was as strong as she was firm. She was the center of our household.  She saw to it that her children were dressed on time each morning for school.  She made sure we had enough lunch money during the week.  When we arrived home each evening from school she always had dinner cooking.  I attended Rossville Elementary school located  in the city of Rossville.

During my teenage years I went to Fayette Ware High School located in Somerville, TN.  Somerville is the County seat for all the small surrounding cities located in Fayette County.  My mother was there for me during these years also. She always counselled me on finishing school. She believed her children should have a good education. She also believed and had faith that I would finish.Telling me my education would be very important to me in the coming years.

Because my mother was a strong, firm and caring woman, I always did what she said. I never questioned her statements, whether she was right or wrong. She made many decisions for her children during our adolescent years.  I was always a nice, quiet, and easy going child during my adolescent years. Eventhough, my characteristics were opposite of my mother's, she could always tell when I was upset about something.  She would listen, and then talk to me about the problems in my life.

The problems that concerned me the most never did have a big impact on her. I guest because she had been there, done that and had moved on.  She had a way of making my big problems seem very small.  When she finished talking to me, she would show her love by touching me and giving me a smile.

My mother was not able to finish school because she was raised on a farm, and had to help her parents with daily chores.  She could not read very well but she would always see to it that I had a tutor that would help me with my homework.  After I graduated from High school in the summer, May 1973, my mother allowed me to make the decision on whether to go to college or not.

I entered Shelby State Community College, a two year college, during the fall, September 1973. In 1977 I had my first and only child, Shona Rosser.

As I look back over my life I realize my mother was my best friend. She had to be strong and firm because she had to finish raising eight children after my father died.  She had to be caring as most mothers are, in order for her children to confide in her and disclose our heart felt secrets.  Now  that I am a mother and grandmother I realize all the different aspects and phases of life a mother has to go through to raise children. Being a friend indeed, a mother when we were in need, and someone who will intercede when  we are in trouble.  Eventhough our educational background is different, our values and beliefs are the same because she instilled them in me. I also believe in my child's and grandchildren education, and that it will be very important to them in the coming years.

No one will ever take the place of my mother, Vergie B. Rosser. Born a mother, and died as our friend on January 16, 1976.

COMMUNICATING BIBLICAL SYMBOLS

Revelation reveals some future events that are soon to come in the life of  Jesus Christ. With permission these things were revealed to John in a vision. An angel explained the vision's meaning.

There is a special blessing if one read this prophecy to their Church. The listeners will be blessed if they do what it says. It is soon when these things will come to pass.

Revelation 1:10-Ch. 3

It was on the Lord's Day while John was worshiping, when the Lord told him to  record  letters and send it to the leaders of the seven churches in Turkey. As we read the letters we might find our church's biblical standing similar to one of these churches.:

Church of Ephesus
Church of Smyrna
Church of Pergamos
Church in Thyatira
Church in Sardis
Church in Philadelphia
Church in Laodicea

Revelation also shows true worshipers worshiping in heaven also recorded.

Revelation 4:1-2 and cont.-11

After this I  looked, and , behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me: which thee things which must be hereafter.

And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.

***If beasts can give glory and honour and thanks to God, who sits on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever, shouldn't we be able to do the same?

From the rising of the sun, until its' going down, the Lord's name is so worthy to be praised. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.

God shows leaders the vision He has for His churches. Let us continue to praise God for his mighty acts of love - until we meet again soon.

AN UNSAVE SPOUSE

(Dialogue Question)

Should one be unequally yoked to another?
or should couples remain married for the sake of their children?

We know that many couples remain married for the sake of their children, until the children reach adulthood. Many parents feel this is an obligation and responsibility, considering the livelihood of their children. Many couples remain married because of the fear of starting over with someone new in their life. Anticipating the changes that comes with new relationships.

I Corinthians 7: 12 - 16

But to the rest speak I, not the Lord; If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, is not a Christian, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away, leave or divorce her.

And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, is not a Christian, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him.

For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean, but now are they holy.(If the family separates, the children may never know the Lord).

But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God has called us to peace. (This is permitted to have peace).

For what knowest thou, O wife, whether thou shalt save thy husband? or how knowest thou, O man; whether thou shalt save thy wife?

Paul ask, "How do we know whether we will save our unsaved spouse or our household by the way we live? We know in trying times as these we need each other for better, for worse, for richer or for poorer; until death, another life with God, do us apart. Jesus also said, "He will never leave or forsake us: in sickness, health, for better or worse. This is what He said.

Never leave or forsake him, God; until we meet him again soon.

Obtain Mercy And Grace In Time

(From the minister's heart)

Hebrew 4: 16

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Psalm 89:14

Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face.

When we wonder why bad things happen to good people, us; when we have done all we can to make a stand for God and everything else has failed. Then we can go to God in prayer, with faith and confidence that we may obtain grace and mercy. That He will protect us from evil doers as He promised.

Jesus, our advocate,  is always at the right hand of the father pleading our case, and asking for forgiveness for the trespasses we have made against Him and others.

Our protection from the harm and danger we face daily is God's control, under the blood, the Blood of Jesus; because He made a great sacrifice and paid a big price for us, his children.  God looked all over and couldn't find nobody to redeem us back to Him. He had so much agape love for us that He gave up His glory for a man's body to die a sinner's death. Our ancestors, parents and siblings couldn't do it.

The Blood of Jesus covers the sin in our life, if we go to God in prayer about them, and turn from our wrong ways.

The anointing will destroy all the yokes and bondages in our life, so that we may be free from sin.

If we have sinned and came short of His glory and want forgiveness, we can still go to God in prayer and ask for forgiveness. He is a very pleasant help in the time of need. He is here to deliver us, according to Jeremiah 1:8.

Jesus knows the heart aches, disappointments and troubles that we have face in life, because He faced them first. After all He was the one crucified for our sins. He was tempted in all ways possible to man, but never sinned. He did it all for you and I. This is why He said, "He will never leave us or forsake us  because He knows what it is like to be a human. He is a living testimony.

THIS IS ANOTHER DAY'S JOURNEY, WE MADE IT AND WE'RE STILL HERE.

BECAUSE HE LIVES WE CAN FACE TOMORROW.

Lets continue to ask for mercy and find grace for our time of need.

Until we meet again - soon.

Emulating Jesus

Philippians 2: 2, 5-6

Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

***We are making God happy by having  a Christ-like mind, loving  one another, and being able to agree and work together in the Lord. Our mission and purpose in life should be to carry out God's work as Jesus, his son did. After all we are his children also, we were bought with a price; the blood He shed on cavalry, and He never said a mumbling word..

Philippians 2: 8, 9-11

And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, an given him a name which is above every name.

That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth:

And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

***God became flesh and walked among us as Jesus Christ. As Jesus, he humbled himself  to die on the cross for our sins even though He did not sin. Because of Jesus payment on the cross for our sins, God lifted him up and gave his a mighty name, Jesus. At that name every one will bow of heavenly and earthly things.
Every one will be confessing that Jesus is Lord.

***God mission in our life is much simplier than Jesus and the disciples. They were whipped, thrown in prision pits for days, and maybe executed later. They did as John The Baptist by making the way straighter for us. Our mission is to finish the work they begun, by letting our light shine, lifting Jesus up through His word, and testifying of His goodness; and He will draw all men unto Himself.

Let's continue to imitate Jesus' lifestyle - until we meet again soon.
