Seeking Happiness

Seeking happiness is not as hard to find as most of us think. One of the first things Jesus told us to do is, "Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all things will be added to us."  He will add that peace and happiness to our journey.

Jesus taught the Beatitude-Kingdom blessings-on the mountain, he began his statement with Blessed are. Blessed translated means happy are.  In every statement, he said we will be happy if we do this and that:

Matthew 5:3-12        HAPPY

Blessed -happy- are the poor in spirit :...
Blessed are they that mourn ...
Blessed are the meek :...
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst: ...
Blessed are the merciful: ...
Blessed are the pure in heart: ...
Blessed are the peacemakers: ...
Blessed are they which are persecuted...
Blessed are ye, when me shall revile you,...
Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven:...

Christians across the nation should practice the Sermon on the mountain, because it lets us know we are going to be tempted, tested and tried in every way. It is up to us to maintain our peace and happiness through the Holy Spirit, who gives us the Fruits of the Spirit.

A Faithful Battle

(Thought)

In our darkest hour when the night has come and the moon is dark, and we can not see the break of day, we need the Lord to stand by us.

Many times concern and doubt grasp hold of our mind and will not release it for processing. We become very depressed or stressed out. This happens to many of us usually when we are in despair. There is no better time than the present to use our faith by standing on the word of God.

A well known Pastor said:

Little Faith - Hopes that God will do what He says.

Strong Faith - Knows He will do what He says.

Great Faith - Believes He has already done it.

Hebrews 11:1

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Jesus tells us, Our faith makes us whole; if we ask anything of him, and believing we will receive them, we will have them; faith pleases God, according to the bible.

It seems very hard to hold onto our faith when we don't see the things we ask of God manifesting.
If we have the faith, God will fight the battle.

Lets HAVE FAITH IN GOD, according to Mark 11:22

You Don't Live Here Any More

(From The Minister's Heart)

Many times after awakening each morning we allow the same situations to hold us down.We must lay aside every weight that so easily hold us back from experiencing what God has for us. Speaking to the situations in the name of Jesus, and letting them know they don't live in our home any more:

1. Family discord-A family that prays together will stay together.  A house divided among itself will not   stand.

Mark3:35

For whosoever shall do the will of God; the same is my brother, and my sister and mother.

2. Sickness & disease- get out of our body. God says, "He do not dwell in an unclean temple."

Isaiah 53:5

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

3. Unemployment and lay off - leave our home in the home of Jesus.

Deuteronomy 8:18

But thou shall remember the Lord thy God; for it is He that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.

Proverbs 13:22

A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children; and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.

III John 1:2

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

Lets use our power to speak to our mountains/difficult situations in our life and tell them to be removed and cast into the sea.

Kiss Of Love

Song of Solomon 4:9-11

Thou has ravished my heart, my sister, my spouse; thou has ravished my heart with one of thine eyes, with one chain of thy neck.

How fair is thy love, my sister, my spouse! how much better is thy love than wine! and the smell of thine ointments than all spices!

Thy lips, O my spouse, drop as the honeycomb: honey and milk are under thy tongue; and the smell of thy garments is like the smell of Lebanon.

***Solomon, a King and the wisest man during his life time was full of Godly wisdom.  We notice that he wrote beautiful love poems between a husband and wife, when reading the book of Song of Solomon.

God is love and He wants spouses to have and enjoy that true love that Solomon is speaking about in  poetic ways. Sometimes we love hard and hurt very easily. Knowing that love covers a multitude of faults helps us to keep on forgiving and loving our significant others.

Love between a husband and wife is so divine that God made it Holy through His Holy Matrimony.

Mercy and Grace Given

(Thought)

Lamentations 22-23

It is of the lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
They are new every morning: great is thy faithfullness.

***Jesus knew before He ascended back to heaven that we were going to be tempted in every way as He was. The difference is that He didn't yield to temptation as we do. He became that temptational sin for us even though He knew no sin, as the bible states.

The temptation to commit sin and do wrong things are going to be a challenge for us every day. We must yield ourselves to God.  Resist the devil as Jesus did, and he will flee from us.  We must let Satan know that we do not live our life by what he says, but by every word that God tells us.  "Get thee behind me Satan" is one way to put him back in our past life. He don't rule our new live because we have been born again, and bought with a price on Calvary hill. Those old, childist things that we use to do, we don't do them any more.  Greater is God that is within us than he-Satan, the father of sin-that is in the world.

***Paul went through many difficult situations in life and the answer God had for him, and us is:
"My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness". Paul replied by saying, "Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Therefore I take pleasure infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, than I am strong." (II Corinthians 12:9-10).

***Can we say, as Paul said, "When I am weak in my mortal body, that is when I am strong in the Lord"? When it seem as though a world of troubles are on our shoulders, and we are weak and worried, it is then that the Lord is strong and mighty.

Let's remember that God's Mercy and Grace is given through out the day, in our utmost time of need.

Until we meet again - soon.

DON'T TURN BACK

Our past is behind, there is no giving up and no turning back, although, Satan want us to fall and be under attack

We look back over our life to see how far we have came.  We fall down many times and can't get up, so we call on Jesus' name.

Old things have passed away and all things became new.  This is not what Satan want us to know and hold true.

It seem so long ago that we sinned with shame.  Life is too important to play a meaningless game.

Through sun shine and rain, don't turn back or give up, because we go through many heartaches and pain.

He bore our sins and by his stripes we are healed. This was not by nature, but because of his perfect love, and will.

When we were lost, we done nothing to deserve Jesus giving  up his life for us, and dying on the old rugged cross.

O Jesus, Jesus how sweet the sound. It is better to be free and not be bound.

DON'T TURN BACK.

Children Lives Worth Living

Ecclesiastes 12:1

Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, before trouble days come, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them.

Temptation is really at at its highest peak among teenagers today:

Suicide, depression, bitterness, anger etc seems to be part of their life style.

Drunk driving, speeding, drag racing and vehicle homicide is at an alarming rate.

Crime is constantly rising at a rampage, anger and revenge is what they seem to long for.

Drugs and alcohol sometimes substitute for food and beverage.

*Our children of today are the leaders of tomorrow. Lets continue to educate them on things that are not Godly. Things that are taken for granted and has many benefits to offer them:

1. A good education

2. A prospering job

3. A wholesome life style, etc.

Lets remember during our life time we are once an adult and twice a child.

Encourage Yourself

I Samuel 30:5-6

And David's two wives were taken captives, A-hin-o-am the Jez-re-el-i-tess, and Ab'-igail the wife of Na'-bal the Car'-mel-ite.

And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.

***Sometimes we are caught up in situations even though we are not at fault. We try again and again to explain to others that we did not cause the problem. It does not seem to matter what we say, to them, we are still to blame. When things go wrong as they sometimes will, humans has a tendency to lay the blame on someone instead of something. We should look at the nature of the situation,  sometimes, instead of who caused it.

All issues that comes into our life are not problems. It is when we focus more on the issue than on God, that the issue become a problem to us.  In our daily walk with God we are going to have issues that arises: on our job, in our home and in our churches. God let's us know that questions and concerns can be solved through His word of wisdom, as stated in Proverbs. In other books of the bible God reveals clearly how He worked out situations for His people, prophets and leaders etc.

When we walk by faith, more than sight, we have to encourage our self, and sometimes make ourselves happy as Paul did, in order, to go forward in life.  We must lay aside those issues, concerns and problems that so easily hold us back from the mission and journey God has for us to complete.

I urge you, as David would say, encourage your self in the Lord.

God Does It Best

(From The Minister's Heart)

Let God do what He does best and that is taking care of us.  He tells us to cast our cares on Him because He first cared for us. His entire life: birth, death and resurrection was and still is based on taking care of His children, us. He gave His life on the cross so that we may have eternal life through Him.

He knew that He was going away to prepare a place -mansion -for us, and said, "He would not leave us comfortless. Telling us, our Father would give us another comforter, the Holy Ghost, who will teach us, and  bring back to our remembrance all the things He had told us, according to John 14."

He also charged Peter to care for us while He was gone. While talking to Simon Peter,  He asked Simon, son of Jonas, love thou me? Peter's replied once by saying yes Lord, you know I do.

Jesus said, "Feed my lambs.

Jesus asked Peter the same question the second and third time, "Simon, son of Jonas, love thou me?"

The last time Peter said,  "Lord, you know all things, you know I love you."

Jesus said, "Feed my sheep, according to John 21:15-17."

***Not only did Jesus tell Peter to feed his sheep (adults), but also to take care of and feed His (lambs) children.

***When it seems as though we have had problems on top of problems, or gone through tragedy after tragedy, call on Jesus, a faithful helper in the time of need.

Isaiah 43:2-3

When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

For I am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee.

*** God told Israel, do not be afraid because you belong to me. Whatever you go through I am going to be with, and take care of you.  They were God's chosen people.

We are also chosen to be His people and to be taken care of because we are called by His name, Christians, as in Christ.

Lets continue to let God do His job by taking care of us and giving us the very best in life.

Until we meet again - soon.

We Don't Have Much - But God Has Really Been Good To Us

Philippians 4:6,7

Be careful for nothing, but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

And the peace of God which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

***Many of us have needs and we look to our job, the government and others to supply them.  Everything we need we can get it through the word of God.

Matthew 6:32-34

For your heavenly Father knoweth that you have need of all these things.

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto  you.

Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Psalm 34

David said, O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in Him.

***God really want to bless us and He also wants to keep His commandment.

Romans 6:1-2

What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

God forbid. How shall we that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Romans 8: 38-39

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come.

Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Lets remember that God has really been good to us - by supplying all our needs through his son, Jesus Christ

Until we meet again - soon.             (Sermon done Sunday, Ocotber 9, 2011 in my church).

Overflowing Wisdom From Above

James 3:17-18 says,

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, f ull of mercy and good fruits, without partially, and without hypocrisy.

And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

***Wisdom from above is unlike earthly wisdom. It has the Fruits of the Spirit in it. It is not selfish, unkind, deceitful and full of confusion."If any man need wisdom we should ask God." Man's need for wisdom, in today's time, "Is a must" and  it is used many times to make simple, immediate or crucical decisions.

Wisdom is the principle thing, but when we get it lets also get an understanding. It can overflow in our life if we use it the right way: to bless ourselves and others.

Lets continue to hold onto the purity, peacefulness, gentleness, honesty, mercy and fruits of the spirit that is found in the Wisdom from above.

Until we meet again - soon.

Turning Back The Hands Of Time

(Thought)

Can we go back in time?

Many times we all wish that we could turn back the hands of time.  Many things have happened and changed since we were born, grew up and became an adult: Family households, jobs, technology, the economy and sometimes the compassion we have for others.

Many times when we come face to face with tragedies and troubled times our mind goes back to our childhood and we think, "I wish I was young again then my parents would handle the situation that I am in. This is not my battle, it is a battle for them."

Reminiscing is good in recollecting the older days during our youth, and telling stories to our children; but when it comes to facing challenges in real life reminiscing seems like a fairy tale, and so long ago.

God can take us back to the place where we first received him, the place where we first believed.  We can not go back in age or time; but we can go back to Him, our first love.

Ecclesiastes 12:1-3

Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them:

While the sun, or the light, or the moon, or the stars, be not darkened, nor the clouds return after rain:

In the day when the keepers of the house shall tremble, and the strong men shall bow themselves, and the grinders cease because they are few, and those that look out of the windows be darkened,

***Remembering God because we are not our own-to Him we belong. Before we get older, remembering our days of sinful pleasure, and saying, "I do not enjoy them now."

Before our sight get dim or impaired, and our depression turn into tears;

In the day when our hand and arms will have no more strength; neither will our feet and knees, and the teeth will cease to grow.

We can not turn back the hands of time - but we can go back to the place, in our heart, to the time we first  received Him.

Let's continue to receive Him into our hearts - so that He may increase and we may decrease.

Until we meet again- soon.

Being Delivered From Calamities

(From the Minister's Heart)

When calamities come our way, and they seem so hard to bare. Our utmost thought is that God will be right there.

For His mercy is so great to us all. Many times we get so complacent, and on His name, we do not call.

He loves us so much that our burdens He carried to the cross. Talk to the Lord because there is no time to be lost.

Psalm 57:1-3

Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea; in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.

I will cry unto God most High; unto God that performeth all things for me.

He will send from heaven, and save me from the reproach of him that would swallow me up. Selah.  God shall send forth his mercy and his truth.

***David knew best, when going through calamities, what it took to be blessed.

Lets continue to call on God to be delivered in times as these.

Until we meet again - soon.

Law And Order In The Home

Law and Order sounds like a TV show, about the justice system,  that has been airing for some years now. True law came about during Moses time - the Ten Commandments. This was after the Lord said in

Deuteronomy 5:6

I am the lord thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

Obey my commandments and live, Deuteronomy 5:7-21.

Because you obeyed, you shall walk in all the ways which the Lord your God hath commanded you, that ye may live, and that it  may be well with you, and that ye may prolong your days in the land which ye shall possess, according to Deuteronomy 5:33.

Order entered our world by way of grace and mercy through a virgin birth. The child's name was Jesus.

Isaiah 9:6

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Romans 6:14-15

For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace?God forbid.

From the beginning Law was dominant in the home. Now we are living under God's order of grace.

Let's continue to let grace abide in our home - until we meet again soon.
