Silent Temptations

Thought!
Temptation, mostly, seems to be to some an innocent thought or scene; something that, for the most part, cannot do any harm because it is always behind the scene, in our mind. When it strikes we find ourselves drawn away by our own lust and desires that cannot be controlled. It sweeps us off our feet because we imaginated and entertained it in our minds. Now it is ready for foreplay. That innocent thought has grown into a beast.

I Corinthians 10:13

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able, but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

James 1:12-15

Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempted he any man:

But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

*** In order to resist temptation we must be able to cast down all false imaginations, by telling God to renew our minds and hearts. To tear down all thoughts that are not like Christ. To have dominion and authority through the Holy Spirit. We must have the mind of Christ as much as possible.

*** Our adversary, Satan, is going to and fro seeking whom he may devour with his temptations. He comes silently to kill, steal and destroy. He comes through our senses: looking good, tasting good and sometimes smelling good. We know that everything that looks, taste and smells good may not be good for us like: a cigar or strong drink that leaves a bad taste in our mouth.

*** Everything we do wrong in our flesh has consequences. The bible says, "God does not look on the outer part of man; but he looks at our heart."

*** Lets say to God what David said, Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me," Psalm 51:10.

Until we meet again - soon.
